Toothpicks Storm

What a day, what a year and still what a moment like this to see. We celebrate with fireworks and cheers. Men and Women today corporate and build many new things. We take from the earth as many minerals and gold as we please. It is what we call progress or so we are told. These items give us the right to build more and more.

While we are building we are polluting the air, while we are inventing new way to use plastics and glass items we still pollute and the end results lay in our landfills. Still we cut down trees that provide us with shade and the forest becomes a flat land for development. The first building goes up and it is a popular destination, more advertising in the suburban area and then along the city streets. Our hopes, and our dreams, are crumbed inside these castle walls we call home.

The castle structure stands for years, as generation of families continue to grow. Men and women pat themselves on the back. Then the job market goes sourer, and individual stocks decline. Retirement is put off for another year or two. New growth seems impossible when all you do is cut and cut things out of your own budget. Stalemate, regulation and entitlement are up for grab. The poor stay poor and the rich get richer.

Rain clouds switch direction from west to east. Storms surges build each moment as you wait. The skies open up it begins to rain and rain. Lightning runs backward and forward from east to west, darker days and darker nights seem to cover the whole sky. Higher winds all generating coming together as one. In the morning it’s cold and then it warmer and by the evening it hot a true mixture of something to come. Sirens are streaming as loud as they can. Funnel clouds are touching the ground, twisting and shaking everything that is around. It moves at speeds no man can stand. Pulling up and moving everything in site. The bigger it grows the more it takes away. What took men and women a few weeks to get! Take this storm, one minute to turn everything into to TOOTHPICKS!
